Ballif Board Day 2009!

This is a long post so make sure to start at the beginning! :)  After a nice day of skiing we stopped off at Starbucks before heading down the canyon. Just as we were walking out my dad walked through the door! So of course it was picture time. Funny thing later that night my dad asked us if we had noticed who was standing in front of him at Starbucks. We all said no and asked who? Believe it on not it was Sara Jessica Parker! Shea couldn't believe she hadn't noticed her! She loves Sex and the City and SJP. Well maybe next time! Anyway it was an awesome weekend with Shea, we did miss you Nick, but it was nice to have her visiting and to spend the weekend with family. Thank you so much for flying Shea to me for Valentine's Day and for the flowers! I love you so much!

We all wanted to go Skiing/Boarding so we headed to Park City for the Day! Mike O. even came along for the fun and craziness. 

Valentines Weekend!

Since I knew Shea was coming in I wanted to surprise my mom so I told a few little white lies to get her and Steven to come to dinner Thursday night in Layton, and for my mom to take Friday off work so we could all play. Jade was in on it too so it worked out perfectly.

Nick, Shea, and I all arrived first so we made Shea wait in the car while Nick and I got a table. We sat facing the door so my mom and Steve would have to sit with there backs to the entrance. Once everyone arrived (but Shea who is freezing her butt off in the car!) and we were seated I texted Shea to come in. 
We are all chatting and catching up and Shea walks up to our table and asks if she can take our order! Immediately mom's jaw drops and she loses it. She's smiling, crying, in shock... Steven just sits there looking over his glasses making sure it really is Shea. My mom can't get out of the booth because Steven is in her way and she's like move it! moveit! move it !  Finally she gets to Shea and is hugging her to death! It was so fun to see my mom so surprised.

Sweet Husband of Mine!

A few weeks ago Nick informed me that he had been invited to go to the Allstar Basketball weekend in Arizona with his friend Zane. The only problem he said was that it was the weekend of Valentines Day. I told him he would be a fool not to go and should tell Zane yes. Knowing he would be gone he was going to surprise me and fly me to LA to see my sister Shea. He was just about to book the ticket and decided to just double check with me. It was a good thing he did because I was on call Sun night and Mon afternoon (for President's Day) at work so I couldn't have gone.  So instead of flying me out there he called Shea and arrange for her to fly to me! It was awesome and we all had such a fun weekend. 

Congratulations Micah!

My little sister Micah just WON the local spelling bee! Now she has been invited to the regional competition in Denver, CO. Way to go girl! I think that is so cool! I remember when I tried to do the spelling bee when I was your age. I was so scared to be up in front of everyone that I didn't really try and was out of the competition fast. You are so brave and smart! You're going to ROCK IT in Denver! Love you! Nick and I are so proud of you!

Logan HI-LO'S Are #1

Jade and Lisa! Congratulations Coaches! Sorry Lisa I don't have a pic of you!
My sister Jade has been the C0-Head Coach of the Logan Hi-Lo's Drill team this past year! This past Friday the girls took 1st place and are the Region Champions. Congratulations! They compete this Saturday the 31st for the title of State Champs. Good Luck girls and Coaches! You've had an amazing year! I just want Jade to know how proud we are of her and you all should come check out they're dances at state! They are soooo good and fun to watch! Love you Jade! 

Professional Puppy Photo Shoot!

What? You may ask. Did I really pay for a professional photo shoot for my dogs? Well the answer is NO, but this pick is taken by a pro.  Layla and Zeus sometimes get to go to the Mountain Lab with Nick. This past week the DC Snowboard team was in town for filming, testing new gear...Layla and Zeus were just chillin in the Mnt Lab kitchen after a hard day of chasing boarders through the park and even launching off a couple jumps. Colin, one of the photogs,  snapped this pick of the dogs and sent it to Nick. Didn't it turn out AMAZING! Now back to launching off 10ft jumps. Zeus decided to follow Ikka (pro boarder) as he was speeding toward a jump.  Ikka hits the jump and well, Zeus followed! Just imagine Zeuser running as fast as he can living it up and not realizing he is about to be launched into the air off a huge 10-12 ft jump! Needles to say it was a straight belly flop to hard snow below.  After dusting himself off and limping for a few steps he takes off running again for the next adventure! WOW! How glad am I there were no broken bones and doggie surgery!
