First and foremost my little Zeuser's had exploratory surgery today. This journey began last weekend with Z acting like he had injured himself. He was really whinny and would bark and yelp if you touched him. We visited the vet on Mon and discovered he had a sore neck. He had a shot of pain meds (after x-ray to rule out fracutres...) and seemed good to go. Come tuesday night he started acting sad and forlorn and started throwing up and wouldn't eat or drink anything. I thought he may have had a reaction to some of his meds from monday so I just continued to monitor him. He still seemed to be drinking a little but not eating. So to try and make a long story short he didn't get better no eating, no drinking lost of puking. We visited the vet a number of times for more x-rays, blood test.... On Sat we decided to do a barium test to see if he might have a blockage and the test showed he may have a foreign body in his intestines. The vet said we should seriously consider exploratory surgery and so we gave them the go ahead.

Well this am Zeus went in for surgery around 900 am. They found two foreign objects and about 6 inches of dead bowel. So they had to perform a bowel resection and the two objects ended up being two squeaky toys. He also had some string/stuffing material that was removed. They said he did well during the procedure but of course he is still not in the clear. I know I blog a lot about my dogs but they really have become a part of my family and they make me happy. I've just been really stressed and worried over the thought of losing Z. Anyway I just needed to talk about it and release. If all goes as planned Z could come home Mon afternoon. Stay tuned for updates.

Poor Zeus! I know how easily dogs become family. You'll do anything for them.
I hope he makes a speedy and well recovery. GET WELL SOON Z!
I love hearing about your dogs!!! I send all my get well wishes his way. It is stressful to be a mommy even if it is to your puppy loves.
chels thats so sad. I love little zeus and lala. If you lost either of them I would cry! I hope the little guy gets better soon!
That is awful and so sad at the same time. If it were any other two dogs I probably wouldn't feel very bad. But I do. See ya in a few days!!!
